Laura Sacks is a New York City-based violist who enjoys a multifaceted career. This season she looks forward to performances with the Knights, New York City Ballet, NOVUS, Experiential Orchestra, Wordless Music Orchestra, Albany Symphony and Vermont Symphony and Chamber Orchestra of New York. She has recently performed a season with the Sarasota Opera, and a summer at  June in Buffalo. Her chamber music ensemble, Crystalline Chamber Collective has performed on the series Downtown Music at Grace and Saugerties ProMusica, and looks forward to four concerts at Bargemusic this spring.

Comfortable in many genres, Laura joined the legendary Eagles on their North American tour in 2018 and held the viola chair on the Broadway National Tour of Miss Saigon- she has also subbed on Broadway in NYC. Highlights of this past year include recording with Maxwell and Cynthia Erico, performing alongside Barry Manilow at Radio City Music Hall, Lake Street Dive at Madison Square Garden, Lea Michelle at Carnegie Hall and Halsey at NJ PAC. She regularly performs and records with the Grammy winning 8 Bit Big Band and can be seen on Jimmy Kimmel Live performing with Chelsea Cutler as well as performing in the house band on Saturday Night Live. Laura can also be heard frequently performing candlelight concerts with the Highline String Quartet all throughout the tristate area.

Laura holds a bachelors degree from New York University, a masters degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and most recently completed her doctorate at Stony Brook University. Laura is on faculty at Harlem School of the Arts and has previously enjoyed teaching at Special Music School, and the Lucy Moses School.
